Over Father's Day weekend we decided we wanted to go somewhere we had never been before. We decided to venture over to the gulf coast to Sanibel Island. It was about a four hour drive for us and super relaxing the whole time. Sanibel Island is a very slow paced quiet beach town. The gulf waters don't have any waves, so the kids enjoyed going way out into the warm ocean waters. Sanibel is known for sea shells. Piles of sea shells everywhere! So we did a lot of sea shell hunting, too. All we did was lay around reading and playing in the water at the ocean and hotel pool that was right by the beach.

Sea shell piles everywhere!!

I think we need to take our own Sanibel trip sometime-- looks like fun! :)
So fun! We need to go there sometime. I feel like we haven't explored very much of the west coast of FL...
