Fun in September

We've been busy this past month as usual. Sydney is loving first grade and is playing soccer right now. Jake is wishing everyday that he could go to school, but we are having fun at home. He goes to swimming two mornings a week and we play with lots of friends. They both go to gymnastics one day a week after school, too. Mike has been busy with work this past month and is really starting to like his job a lot. He's done a lot of traveling this past month, which isn't normal for him. He probably won't do anymore for quite awhile. He's been to Detroit/Ohio, California, Dallas, and Washington D.C. I haven't posted any pictures for awhile, so thought I'd post a few so you can see what we've been up to this past month.

Kennedy Space Center
The Kennedy Space Center had free day for all Brevard County residents. So we went and took advantage of that. It was really neat. Sydney especially loved it and had a million questions. Luck would have it that the battery on the camera ran out just as we got there, so we didn't get a lot of pictures. They will have more free days, so I'll get some good ones next time. This picture was just taken with out phone so sorry about the quality. Jake and Sydney were ready to be astronauts by the time we left. We rode the bus out to the shuttles and they had two out there sitting getting them ready for upcoming launches. That is really rare to see two up at the same time so that was neat. John F. Kennedy was such an amazing president to be such a dreamer to help launch the space program. We enjoyed our day there learning.

Soccer
Sydney has been playing soccer and is having fun. She's very much into the social aspect of it more than the competition which is great. She has enjoyed Mike helping coach the team

Swimming Lessons
Jake has been taking swimming lessons for a few months now. He loves it and thinks he's Michael Phelps as soon as he puts his goggles on. He's a great little swimmer for a three year old and loves the water.

Lizards and Frogs
We have so many lizards and frogs around here. It is a boy's dream. Jake catches lizards and frogs so easily. I try but am not as quick as Jake. The kids are always outside fighting over them. Sydney use to be hesitant about holding them, but now loves it just as much as Jake. He usually has to catch the lizards for her, though.

Yes that is a lizard on his ear!! Sydney told him she's give him a dollar if he'd put it there.

The poor frog below is stranded on his back. I'm sure they all get scared as soon as Jake gets near. He puts them through quite a lot.

Back to School Party
We had a back to school party at our house for Sydney's class just after school started. The kids had fun. It was fun to get to know all the kids. Once again, I didn't take many pictures but here is one shot of some of the kids. Sydney loves friends. Jake is always a tag along and Sydney loves it.

Birthday Parties
There have been so many birthday parties lately. I think Sydney has been to five or six this past month and Jake always tags along. This past weekend one of her little friends had her birthday party at her house. She lives on a big ranch. Yes, Florida isn't just beaches and palm trees. There is lots of farm land, too. Sydney was in heaven getting to ride her friend's pony and horse. Jake thought it was the best thing ever, too.

Happy Birthday Mike!!!
Mike celebrated his birthday on October 1st. The kids made the cake all by themselves and we went out to dinner at a fun place right on the water. It had a fun beachy atmosphere.

Check out the video below of Mike's birthday

You guys are having way too much fun!!!

I remember my younger brother always tagging along too. It's funny to look back at pictures from our girl cousin sleepovers at grandma's house and see my little brother sandwiched in between all of the girls!

I love the picture of Jake on the diving board. You are such a good mom to stand right next to him...however, you have gained quite a bit of weight and I'm not sure I like your new, short, curly hair...hehe

Great to see how you are doing. It was mutual about the forgetting birthdays... I think I might just start trying to get all the kid's. Than maybe I will be able to keep up!
