Labor Day Weekend

We decided to get away for the long labor day weekend. We wanted to do something cheap and decided just to go stay a few nights in Orlando. Even though it's only a little over an hour away the kids felt like it was a little vacation and loved staying in the condo. Friday we went to the beach here by our house and forgot our camera of course. We go lots so I'll remember it next time. Saturday morning we went to Orlando. We stayed there two nights and did lots of swimming which the kids always love. Here's some pictures of some other things we did over the weekend.

We visited downtown Orlando which was fun for a change. We always go to the tourist type places in Orlando so it was fun just to visit the city. It made us miss Atlanta and the city living. This park nestled in the middle of the city was beautiful with a walkway all around the lake.

At the same area in the city they were having a farmer's market. It brought back old memories of when we lived in Moscow, Idaho and going to the farmer's market there. It's always a fun atmosphere.

At the market, a guy was there selling roses that he made out of palmetto leafs. He was very talented. He gave one to Sydney (in right hand) without making her pay because he thought she was so beautiful of course. She loved it and spent the rest of the day trying to make her own whenever we walked by palmetto leafs (in left hand). I know what she'll be doing in the back yard now.

The city park down there had very unusual play equipment which the kids loved. Jake didn't want to leave.

Notice Sydney holding a little strangers hand. She's always making friends so quickly

We spent a day at Sea World using our season passes. The kids never get sick of it and we have to drag them out of there because they always want to stay longer.

Sydney had fun at the shows taking pictures of the dolphins and killer whales that she loves!! Didn't she do a great job snapping the camera just at the right time. She's our little animal activist. She's obsessed with saving the sea turtles and manatees at the moment. She loves seeing things at Sea World and then coming back home and trying to see them in the rivers and ocean near our home. Sometimes she has luck finding them and sometimes she doesn't.

We went and took some pictures by the Orlando LDS Temple. For those of you who aren't members of our church, we have something like 130 temples all over the world. They are all beautiful.

We went shopping at the outlets over the weekend. Jake found him a basketball jersey for a couple dollars which he is currently obsessed with. His whole personality changed into that of a basketball player as soon as he put it on. He wants to wear it everyday. He thinks he is a real basketball player now. He is obsessed with any kind of ball.
