Jake had the most amazing kindergarten teacher. We have been so lucky to have Mrs. Georgeff for both Jake and Sydney. Jake loved her. She was a teacher that focused on the whole child and not just academics. Although Jake thrived academically, his character grew even more thanks to her. We will miss Mrs. Georgeff!
We learned that Jake loves art this year. He loved his art teacher Mrs. Sorce. He was one of two kindergartners whose art was chosen to go to the district wide art show. He drew a portrait of himself. Surprise! It is him as a baseball player. I love his Atlanta Braves hat and the baseball field around his head. The sunset in center field is great too! He was so proud when we went to the art show to see his work
This is what he named his art. I love it!
Jake also won second place in his grade for a book he wrote this year. The name of the book he wrote - Jake in the World Series. It was a play by play of how a player named Jake who played for the Braves beat the Red Sox in the World Series. Of course Jake hit a grand slam to win the game. Cutest book! Yes, Jake is obsessed with baseball.
The kindergarten field trip to the zoo. I was able to chaperon. Fun day!
One of the higlights of kindergarten for Jake was having a 5th grade Buddy. This is Justin. He was so great with him. Justin plays baseball which Jake loved. He even came and watched him play in a T-Ball game. He was amazing with Jake. Their classes did things together off and on throughout the school year. This is the end of school year luau party.
I was able to volunteer a lot with Jake's class this year. I loved every minute!!
MRS. GEORGEFF!! We will miss her so much. She is amazing!
This is the play they did with their 5th grade buddies. Jake comes out first. It is really long so I didn't record the whole thing.
This is the end of the play. I turned recorder back on because Jake had a special part at the end. Mrs. Georgeff told him to act "sassy" for this part. He did great.
Jake was concerned about having to wear a hula skirt. He was convinced, however, and did it. Only Mrs. Georgeff can get an active little boy to do a hula dance in a hula skirt.
To end the program - a song to make us parents cry.
