Being in the east coast time zone makes for some late nights on nights like election night. I stayed up late, however, to see history last night. I'm so happy and excited about Barack Obama. I loved volunteering, and he has inspired me to continue to find ways to serve in my communities beyond what I already do. I think he has inspired many and will continue to do so. I was amazed last night seeing how record numbers of people came out to vote, and it made me realize how lucky we are to live in such a great country where everyone can cast their vote and decide who they want to lead their country. The people let their voices be heard. More people participated in the process than ever. Speech below for those that couldn't stay up late enough.
This was one of my favorite speeches given quite a few months ago. It was put to music. I know the words of this speech will be learned by children throughout rest of history much like other famous speeches given by inspirational leaders in past history.

I don't know if I share your excitement, but I will now pray for him and hope he can make right choices for our country.
Congrats to your candidate!! I too enjoyed staying up late watching history unfold. Obama will do a fine job.
Job well done on your efforts. Knocking doors is hard work.
You mentioned this was the first election you really became involved in. A little bit of irony - one of the first campaigns I remember working on while in Arizona (other than my mom)... John McCain.
Hope you guys are doing well!
